Khankendi UltraMarathon 2025 (10-13 April)

The 2nd International Khankendi Ultramarathon will be held in our country.  

The Ultramarathon participants will start from the Sports Capital of Gabala city on April 10 at 08:00 AM. They will cover a distance of 190 km, passing through the cities of Agdash, Laki, Yevlakh, Barda, the recently liberated Aghdam, Askeran, and Khojali, and will finish at the city center of Khankendi on April 13.  

On the first day of the race, the participants will cover the distance of 55 km from Gabala to Agdash. On the second day, they will race 64.8 km from Agdash to Barda. On the third day, as a symbol of the 44-day war, they will cover 44 km from Barda to Aghdam. On the fourth day, the participants will run the final 30 km from Aghdam to Khankendi.  

The event, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, Baku City Circuit, and the Victory Running Club, will take place within the framework of the "Constitution and Sovereignty" year.  

The top three finishers in the general category (both male and female participants) will be awarded the following prizes:  

1st place – 4000 AZN  

2nd place – 3000 AZN  

3rd place – 2000 AZN  

The top 10 athletes will receive a 500 AZN prize.  

In the Master Category, athletes in the age groups 40+, 50+, and 60+ who finish in the top three will receive cash prizes and other gifts.  

On the first day, the top three finishers of the 55 km Gabala-Agdash ultramarathon will receive a gift, and all finishers will be awarded a finisher medal and certificate. Based on the results, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation will determine the second and third-degree prizes, which will be provided by the Victory Running Club.  

On the second day, for the Agdash-Barda ultramarathon, the top three finishers of the 64.8 km distance will receive medals as the stage winners, gifts for the day, and special medals and certificates for those who finish.  

On the third day, for the Barda-Aghdam 44 km Victory Marathon, the top three finishers will receive stage winner medals, gifts for the day, and special medals and certificates for all finishers.  

Athletes who have registered and are aged 18 or above, or have experience in races longer than 21 km, will be allowed to participate. Information about mandatory equipment for the athletes will be provided.  

Note: Considering the limited time and available spots, early registration ensures that organizers will arrange transfers, hotels, and accommodations for participants.
